I got the job!

I got the job today. I went to the second interview and they hired me. I am working in the call center at the Red Lion Hotel. I will be answering calls for the 800 number for rooms and for tickets west. I am training starting Monday for 3 weeks from 9:30am to 4pm, and then working 12-8pm. I am looking forward to getting out of the house and bringing in money again. I will miss Marcus so much! I have been with him everyday for 6 months and have only been away from him for no more than 4 hours at a time. Ugh! It will be hard, but I have to do it. I will get all the benefits at the hotel again. Including insurance! If I do well in my work, I get bonuses and gift certificates, etc. It's a great incentive! I already know everyone who works there, including the people who interviewed me, due to working at the deli and serving them lunch. That is one reason I got the job. I know the hotel already. Well, time to do some shopping! I need to dress business casual. I have been in sweats for almost a year, LOL.

Very proud parents

Laina & Marcus meeting for the first time. I love this picture. Jen & Pete with their babies. This was takin when Laina was 28hrs old and Marcus was 2 days shy of 6 months. She is the cutest little girl. She will be daddies little princess.

Job

Well the interview went ok. I was really nervous. I hate those questions..."what are your weaknesses" or " why should we hire you". Ugh. I got through it. I went in for the interview on Tuesday, and they to me I would get a call for a second interview that night or Wed. I didn't hear from them until last night. I was starting to wonder if they weren't going to call. So, I have a second interview on Tuesday at 10 am. Then I will take a drug test afterward, if I get hired or not, they have everyone do it. I am assuming I will get the job because I told them I would be flexible with my hours. I know, I know...dont assume, too late. Hopefully I will know Tuesday if I have the job. I will let you all know when I know.
Marcus is sitting up by himself now. He wabbles a little, but I dont need to support him anymore. I swear he's gonna say something any day now. It's getting exciting seeing him learn new stuff. His personality is coming out now. He seems pretty mellow now, but that will probably change with my luck.

Back to the Grind?

Well, today is the day. I am going to the red lion for an interview for working in the call center. I am nervous, but since I know the people who are interviewing me, it shouldn't be so bad. I havent had an interview since Nov. 2002. Should be interesting. I would be working the 12-8 shift and various weekend hours. Ricks sister Sherry offered to watch Marcus for us. I would have access to the daycare there if needed. I would get all the benefits again; the hotel room discount, medical, buying hotel products, cell phone discount (if I get a phone), free meals, etc. I will let you know what happens. Wish me luck!

Update

Hi Everyone,
Well, Its a new year with a fresh start! Thank goodness! I want to keep in touch with you all and let you know whats going on in our "cheesy" life. LOL

We are doing well. Rick is working at Ace, and I am home with Marcus. I am looking for work now. Hoping to get back at the Red Lion Hotel.

Marcus is 6 months old now. He is changing so fast! He is eating solids now. He really likes carrots, but isn't too fond of green beans. He is getting so big! He is about 19 lbs, and 2' 4" tall. He is almost in 12 month clothes now. Big feet and hands! Gets it from Rick, the Norwegian side of the family. He wears 12-24 mo. socks and already has outgrown his size 3W shoes! He is so strong! He stands with support very well. He is close to crawling and talking. I have been working on him to say "mama" first, LOL. He is on a predictable schedule right now, which makes it easier on me.

We are looking forward to taking him camping and to the races this year. I cant wait to see you guys this summer. Just want to do an update for you. I will write more soon. This blog is a great idea. Thanks Laura.
